Privacy policy

Last updated 11 October 2026

This policy explains what personal information this website collects, why, who it is shared with and the choices you have. It applies to layothedeveloper.com and the contact and booking forms on it.

Who is responsible

The website is run by Laniya Molayoninujesu, trading as Layò the developer, based in Lagos, Nigeria. For anything about your data, email [email protected].

What I collect

When you send an enquiry or a message

  • Your name and email address
  • Your WhatsApp number and company name, if you give them
  • The service, budget and timeline you choose, and what you write about your project

When you book a call

Bookings are handled by Cal.com. It collects your name, email address, the time you pick and any notes you add, and shares the booking details with me.

When you browse

The site does not use advertising or analytics cookies and does not track you across other websites. On the contact page, Google reCAPTCHA may set its own cookies to tell people from bots. Your browser stores two small preferences on your device: your light or dark theme choice, and whether you've already seen the intro animation in this visit. Hosting providers keep short-lived technical logs (such as IP address and browser type) to keep the site running and secure.

Why I use it

  • To reply to your enquiry or message and arrange a call
  • To prepare a proposal and, if we work together, to deliver the project and send invoices and receipts
  • To send an automatic confirmation that your message arrived
  • To keep the site secure and prevent spam

The legal basis is your consent when you submit a form, and my legitimate interest in answering business enquiries. If we sign an agreement, the basis becomes that contract.

Who it is shared with

I don't sell or rent personal information. It is shared only with the services that run this website, each bound by its own privacy and security terms:

  • Supabase: stores form submissions and site files
  • Vercel: hosts the website
  • Cal.com: handles call bookings
  • Google reCAPTCHA: checks contact form submissions for spam. It looks at browser and interaction signals, under Google's own privacy policy (policies.google.com/privacy)
  • My email provider: sends and receives email from [email protected]

Some of these providers store data outside Nigeria, including in the European Union and the United States. Where that happens, it is protected by the providers' contractual and security safeguards.

How long it is kept

Enquiries and messages are kept for as long as needed to answer you. If we work together, project records are kept for the length of the project and for as long as tax and accounting rules require. Enquiries that don't lead to work are deleted within 24 months.

How it is protected

The site only runs over encrypted connections. Submissions can only be read from the admin dashboard, which requires a password and a second sign-in step from an authenticator app.

Your rights

Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023, and the GDPR if you are in the EU or UK, you can:

  • Ask for a copy of the information I hold about you
  • Ask me to correct or delete it
  • Object to how it is used, or withdraw your consent
  • Complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (ndpc.gov.ng), or to your local data protection authority

To use any of these rights, email [email protected]. I'll reply within 30 days.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date.
